New Nefesh B'Nefesh Project to Send Immigrants to North

(IsraelNN.com) The Nefesh B'Nefesh organization, which facilitates aliya (immigration to Israel) by Jews in North American and England, is launching "Go North" (http://www.gonorth.org.il/) , a $10-million project to encourage Anglo olim (new immigrants) to settle in Northern Israel. The organization, which works in cooperation with various government offices and the Jewish Agency for Israel, will bring over 1,000 newcomers to the North over the next few years.
The unparalleled project was made possible through the Russell Berrie Foundation of Teaneck, New Jersey, together with funding from Israeli philanthropists and the Israeli government. The program will provide significant financial grants and other forms of assistance in the areas of employment and social infrastructures to encourage those who are held back because of concerns that moving to a less developed area will be more costly and more difficult.
